Words cannot express...

That was the subject line of an email I received a few days ago. If you're like me, right away you think.. "ok, this is either going to be good or going to be bad...". In this case, it was the latter. It's really not the type of email you ever hope to receive but at the same time, it was very uplifting.

"Dear Lee,

It has been three years since you were our videographer for our wedding day, but I was thinking about what a treasure your video is to me and my extended family. In the past two years my family has had some tragedy. A year after I was married my cousin, who stood up in my wedding, passed away in a car accident. Then, this year my mother and best friend, passed away unexpectedly. Words cannot express what your wedding video means to me and my family. It is the only recent video I have of my mother and my cousin. I'm just so thankful they were both there to share in that day. It is heartwarming to watch it and see them both so happy, and to hear my mother's voice...that alone is worth more than the world to me. It is priceless. It was truly one of the best days of my life and I am honored that you were there to capture every moment. My mother-in-law watches her video several times a month, because she adores it that much! That is a testament to your style and talent. I feel it was one of the best investments I made for our wedding day. Thanks for sharing your talents with so many and I wanted to let you know how much that video means to me. Thanks again for your talent.

Julie

Although it may sound odd, letters like this are one of the reasons I do what I do. It's about more than a paycheck. It's about more than some flashy new camera or cool video effect. It's about what matters most... touching people's lives. Pure and simple. I am so blessed to have a career that allows me to do that. For those on the fence about making the investment to have a really well done wedding film, I think I know what Julie would tell you.

melissa + jeremy: the book cadillac wedding trailer

Melissa + Jeremy were married at the fabulous Westin Book Cadillac Hotel downtown. It was my first visit there and I was amazed at how cool and stylish it was. A perfect fit for Melissa + Jeremy, who are cool and stylish themselves (being from California and all...). I met up with photographer Laurie Tennent and filmed their preparations and emotional first meeting. Then it was time to head out on the town to capture some amazing footage, including some cool stuff along the Detroit River. After their ketubah + wedding ceremony, we headed across the hall where the Mega-80's rocked the reception. And when I say rocked, I mean rocked! It was also my first time meeting Dee Dee Hoffman, (great working with you, let's do it again!). Here's the trailer for M + J's upcoming wedding film. Enjoy!

jessica + paul: the wedding trailer

I've had the pleasure of "working" with the Carollo family for several years now and if there's one thing I've noticed in that time (besides what wonderful people they truly are), it's that family + faith are very important to them. Because of this, you can't help but feel the love when you are around them. It was no different on this sunny Saturday afternoon in June when Jessica + Paul started their new life together. It was also apparent - long before his amazing toast at the reception - that Jesse is truly the apple of her father's eye. Being the father of a daughter myself, his words rang especially true to me. So, it didn't take me long to decide I wanted to base their wedding trailer around his special words. Hey, you gotta love heartfelt toasts like that! Congratulations Jesse + Paul, I wish you and your families all the best. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your special day. Here's the trailer for their upcoming wedding film.
